Wise Words by Ole

I am Ole ... or at least that's what my friends call me! I am a writer at heart and would like to think of myself as a modern day philosopher (aka. bullshit artist, pardon my french!). Corny, I know, but I intend to blog "Wise Words" (aka. Words of Wisdom) and am happy for all to read, enjoy, ponder, and maybe laugh too!!! ;) Your comments (hopefully constructive!) are welcome too! :)

More sleep...

Amazing things do happen, and I was off the phone before 3am (well, 2:55am), and having come in late to work, I've had a good 6 hours sleep and I'm surviving without a coffee ... although, I think I'll need one *soon* ;)

God is an alien.

Do you believe that God created man, and the earth, and all that the bible says? Or are you grounded in science and believe the only true explaination for how/why we are here is natural evolution? ... Well, my theory is this ...

God is an alien. He came to the earth and brought Adam and Eve here as pets, among other animals. He put them in a small garden and trained them not to eat his favourite fruit and not to leave the garden. Of course this didn't quite work out, as these were humans and they didn't listen to God. So God was angry and left them to roam the earth. He went back to his own planet and later sent other aliens, called Prophets, with messages for the humans and to check up on how the earth and mankind was going.

Eventually, God had heard enough bad reports from the Prophets, and decided to send his son, Jesus, to give a clear message to all the of mankind. He disguised Jesus as a human, so that he could give his message from the people. Hence, Jesus, the Son of God, was also an alien, and eventually "ascended" or flew back up to where he came from ... his spaceship probably left behind a bit of a fire show, hence the bible talking about flames and all. Of course all the miracles, were really just advanced alien technology, like laser eye surgery and hearing implants ... I mean really, how hard would it be to convince people you could "walk on water" if you had the right technology?

So, when God said he would come again, he meant it. "He'll be back" at some point and if he's going to judge us we'd better be ready! ;)

Disclaimer: This is one of my wild theories that I love to try and justify and logically explain, this however does not mean I actually believe any of it, but I shall defend it to the blog death ... so feel free to criticise it, and poke a million holes in it, I'm ready and waiting for ya! ;)

Sleep? ...

So my poetry gets lamer everyday ... I think I should be writing something about sleep, or the lack there of, perhaps that would explain it, and let you believe that I personally am not actually that lame...

You see sleep has been my lowest priority lately, and hence I've prob. averaged less than 4 hrs a night... fine for a few days, but I believe I've been doing this for over 2.5 weeks now and it's starting to show ... Zzzzzz....

Oh, and I'm back ... what ever would I do with out caffienne???

Ok, stay tuned for my theory of creation... titled "God is an alien" ;)

Carpe diem...

Carpe diem, seize the day,
For every moment, goes away,
And once it's gone, it's gone to stay,
And stay it shall, far far away.

Love...

Love is something special, what a treasure to find,
It brings out the best, with favour and kind,
I wish all could love, with no fear in their mind,
But alas, it's a struggle, throughout our mankind.

What is Love?

An eternal question ... I used to think it was something you'd never know until you actually found it, and then you would simply just know! ... but this leads to the question of how would you know that, that is it, and I've never quite been able to answer that part ... so I'll take another approach...

"Love" is something with many definitions, I mean there is "brotherly love", "love for friends and family", "unconditional love", and the list goes on ... so what do we really mean when we say "love" ... I think in the general case if we are trying to define it, we mean "unconditional love", whereby you love a person regardless of their failings.

I see it like this, "love" is where you think and feel a certain way about someone. It is where their words and actions become sacred to you, and you can't live without them. They effectively become a part of what makes you up, and you would do almost anything for them. But most importantly, true unconditional love, is simply that, unconditional ... and no matter what they do, as bad as it may be, and as much as you may disagree with it, you still feel that way about them.

I know the topic of "love" easily turning to "hate" has come up before (Can you fall out of love?), but I think my explaination on this stands, "this is still love, because in this case the reason you hate them is because you still love them, and anything bad they do hurts you in a way only someone you love can." Hence I believe, in this situation, you still feel all the aspects of love.

Making up for lost time...

since I haven't posted for a while, I'm playing catch-up...

Time waits for no man, not even me,
If it were to wait, then where would it be,
For time has no place, no rhyme and no reason,
It's just a thing, that comes with the season.

So since it won't wait, at least not for me,
I'll make the most of it, for posterity.
No wasting a moment, "carpe diem", I say,
And vow not to let, my time slip away!

So is it better to have loved and lost?

Hell no, it's better to have loved and still love! ... who wants to lose anyway? ;)

So yeah, go out there and love, and don't lose 'em, tell 'em they can't go anywhere, tell them you want 'em for ever ... or at least for now ... tell 'em something!

Ok, so I've been slack with posting...

Guess I need a new quote for the day, or should it be quote for the week, anyway here goes:

"Expect the worst, but hope for the best!"

Right now, I'm anxiously awaiting news from a far, to find out whether a special someone will be able to make it to Melbourne for NYE ... fingers crossed!!!

Quote for the Day

"Democracy and violence can ill go together."
- M. Ghandi

Perhaps Bush and the US government should pay close attention to this profound statement. I can't see democracy being brought about by violence ... violence only breeds hatred and mistrust.

Monkey See, Monky Do ... Woman of My Dreams!

Monkey see, monkey do,
That's why I'm here, looking at you.
I saw you glancing, checking me out,
And now I am staring, watching you pout.

All the kings horses, and all the kings men,
Can't stop me from smiling, and looking again.
And there you are, smiling back at me,
Together our eyes meet, with a hint of glee.

Now over I walk, and ask you your name,
Only to find, you've disappeared again,
So where have you gone, and why did you leave,
And where can I find you, this woman of my dreams.

Spot the What The?

Ok, tell me what you think ...

Met this girl through friends some time back, seems nice, great to talk to, etc. So I thought hey, I'd like to get to know her better, so I invited her out a few times ... the first 3 times I invited her out properly somewhere she comes up with the same reason for not being able to make it, "her best friends birthday" ... ok, so i'm thinkin' how many "best" friends can you have? ... the way I figure it she'd have to have at least 2 ... I'll admit it was possible for her to have had one "best" friend celebrate their birthday twice, since that was within the same week ... but the first invite was a few weeks before, so somethin' is amiss...

Anyway, this all might seem quite normal ... obvious answer, she doesn't want to see me ... except that whenever I see/talk to her she seems to be keen ... we get along well, and she always give me "genuine", or at least genuinely delivered, reasons for not being able to come ... anyway, I saw her again this weekend, and things were pretty great, invited her to come out for some after partying and she couldn't because of her parents being there (perhaps, they've been part of the reason all along) ... but she always says she'll def. come out next time ... I'm still waiting for the next time to actually eventuate ... so I've asked her out tomorrow, and now I await a reply ... hmmm ... fingers crossed!

But can anyone explain this behaviour, or is it just me?

Fetish - Normal or Abnormal?

Some friends of mine got in a discussion about the psychological state of humans, and whether a fetish was "normal" or "abnormal" ... according to one guy "in psychology they treat it as abnormal, because it has nothing to do with the 'basic instinct' of sex". Another argument offered was that "humans have the ability to indulge in sex for pleasure and not just for the act of procreation, and anything that can stimulate the mind into creating that pleasure... is normal".

However, I took the simple line that fetish by definition is "an excessive or irrational devotion to some activity" ... the words excessive and irrational define this as abnormal, and I think most "normal" people would consider a fetish to be "abnormal" ... It's like saying you can never have "too much" of something ... by definition "too much" is just that, too much!

Any other thoughts?

Better to have loved and lost?

There's an old saying that "it's better to have known love and lost it, than to have never known love" ... and I personally would have to agree 100% ... but being the devil's advocate, there are some people out there who would rather not have to go through the pain of losing someone they love (for whatever reason).

It's a bit like the question "If you had to be blind, would you rather be blind from birth or blinded later in life after being able to see" ... it's all about knowing what you're missing. Frankly, until you are in love, you'll never really know what it's like, and then if you lose it, it's like a big void that you never used to know existed.

I've always said, I never want to grow up, kids always have the most fun, no responsibilities, carefree, no fear, just fun ... but I guess that would mean not knowing love, cos kids don't ... so here's the thing, as much as I'd love to stay a kid, I'm now realising that I have grown up ... I mean I'm old enough to know what I want, I've experienced love more than once, and now I miss having someone to fill that place in my life.

But don't get me wrong, I don't regret anything I did with those I loved, and so I still believe it's better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all. I guess I'm just waiting to find that special girl that I can live happily ever after with... where is she?
