Back to the real world!
Ok, so I'm back from holidays, where I visited the mother country of India ... and as always it was an experience, with many stories to tell!
Firstly, Quote for the day:
"There's no place like home. There's no place like home." - Judy Garland (Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz) 1939
Ok, where do I begin ... Well went over to India for a friends wedding, so let's start with that ... Now I'm told the wedding was quite a typically South Indian Hindu wedding, personally I wouldn't know, but I did find it quite stranger for the Bride & Groom to get rushed on and off a small stage (which was outside the actual temple) for a ceremony lasting just under 10 minutes, with dialogue that could barely be heard, let alone understood, while standing in a packed crowd that resembled a mosh pit more than a wedding gathering. Nonetheless I did enjoy the wedding and the more drawn out reception that immediately followed :)
Now if you think that was bad, visiting the actual temple was a far greater shock to my system. Firstly, I had to wear particular clothing to even enter the temple, which found me wearing a "mundu" (aka. "lunghi"), which is kinda like wrapping a bedsheet around your waist so it looks like a long skirt, and since wearing a shirt of any kind was not allowed I donned the matching garment which I can only describe as a shawl ... tucking the mundu into a pair of shorts (I discreetly wore underneath) so as to not have it embarrassingly fall down, I left my sandals behind at the hotel and headed off bare foot for the temple which was a 5 minute walk away ...
Now that's not the strange part! ... With the shear number of people wanting to attend this particular temple (apparently on any day) there was an amzingly long line to get into the inner sactum ... thankfully, I had vip connections and we skipped through to where the line was just about 20-30 people in front of us ... but the experience was unbelievable ...
Why? - not for some greatly spiritual feeling or enlightenment, not for any wonder or awe, but from the unbelievable lack of respect shown by the ever surging crowd pushing one another forward like people desperate to get out of a burning building ... I found myself being pushed by two middle-aged women behind me, eventually into some men in front of me, as there really was nowhere to go, but we were basically pushed and shoved all the way, finally getting the briefest of glimses of the idol that all had come to worship and stand before ... or rather be pushed past! ...
Personally, I found the experience an invasion of my personal space, not to mention rude and completely unreligious ... maybe I misunderstand their intentions, but surely at a place supposedly so religious and spiritual, people would show some respect ... but apparently that's not the way things are in India.

Pay It Forward
Quote for today: "Pay It Forward" - Catherine Ryan Hyde
Not sure why this came to mind today, but I remember this movie I watched "Pay It Forward", based on the novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde ... not the greatest movie I've watched or anything, but it had this amazing ideal, of paying it forward.
What does that mean, well I think the author describes it best as a "plan to change the world for the better ... by doing something good for three people. But instead of paying him back, he asked them to 'pay it forward' by doing a favor for three more people, who in turn would help three others, and so on, each act a link in a chain of human kindness."
What it means for me, is a simple idea of passing on good will. If someone does something nice for you, sure thank them personally, but try and do something nice in return to them and others, so that the chain of kindness goes on. If everyone thought like this, imagine how different our world would be! :)
Well, that's it from me for a while, as I'll be on holidays for 2 weeks and probably won't have any chance to blog in that time, but when I return I shall be back to regular blogging ... until then remember to "Pay It Forward"! ;)

From bad to worse ...
Ok, so I failed in my attempts to bring you up to speed, and worse still, I never did "fill you all in on more details tomorrow" ... so I throw myself on the mercy of my blog readers (if indeed there are any left!)
So I plan to start blogging regularly again, and hopefully have an audience of readers who aren't disappointed. I won't even attempt to catch you all up on what's been happening, I'm just gonna clean the slate and start from right now ...
Today is Monday, a good day to start new things ... so here I shall start a (hopefully) regular thing, My quote for the day:

More sleep...
Amazing things do happen, and I was off the phone before 3am (well, 2:55am), and having come in late to work, I've had a good 6 hours sleep and I'm surviving without a coffee ... although, I think I'll need one *soon* ;)

God is an alien.
Do you believe that God created man, and the earth, and all that the bible says? Or are you grounded in science and believe the only true explaination for how/why we are here is natural evolution? ... Well, my theory is this ...
God is an alien. He came to the earth and brought Adam and Eve here as pets, among other animals. He put them in a small garden and trained them not to eat his favourite fruit and not to leave the garden. Of course this didn't quite work out, as these were humans and they didn't listen to God. So God was angry and left them to roam the earth. He went back to his own planet and later sent other aliens, called Prophets, with messages for the humans and to check up on how the earth and mankind was going.
Eventually, God had heard enough bad reports from the Prophets, and decided to send his son, Jesus, to give a clear message to all the of mankind. He disguised Jesus as a human, so that he could give his message from the people. Hence, Jesus, the Son of God, was also an alien, and eventually "ascended" or flew back up to where he came from ... his spaceship probably left behind a bit of a fire show, hence the bible talking about flames and all. Of course all the miracles, were really just advanced alien technology, like laser eye surgery and hearing implants ... I mean really, how hard would it be to convince people you could "walk on water" if you had the right technology?
So, when God said he would come again, he meant it. "He'll be back" at some point and if he's going to judge us we'd better be ready! ;)
Disclaimer: This is one of my wild theories that I love to try and justify and logically explain, this however does not mean I actually believe any of it, but I shall defend it to the blog death ... so feel free to criticise it, and poke a million holes in it, I'm ready and waiting for ya! ;)

Sleep? ...
So my poetry gets lamer everyday ... I think I should be writing something about sleep, or the lack there of, perhaps that would explain it, and let you believe that I personally am not actually that lame...
You see sleep has been my lowest priority lately, and hence I've prob. averaged less than 4 hrs a night... fine for a few days, but I believe I've been doing this for over 2.5 weeks now and it's starting to show ... Zzzzzz....
Oh, and I'm back ... what ever would I do with out caffienne???
Ok, stay tuned for my theory of creation... titled "God is an alien" ;)
